Waiting on Tulsa
By: William Dire Wolff
Got in some trouble in Austin
Some whiskey, some cards, and a fight
' told everybody, "I didn't do nothing wrong"
"It was just another Saturday Night."
Headed Northern Border, Tulsa USA
Headed Northern Border, Tulsa USA
Now there wasn't nothing to do there
And nothing could grow in that sun
Nothing to do on a Saturday night
'n Nowhere to have no fun.
Just waiting on Tulsa, Tulsa USA
Just waiting on Tulsa, Tulsa USA
Still was the Cherokee nation
But knew it wouldn't stay that way
So we snuck on cross the border
And quick jumped all our claims.
Just waiting on Tulsa, Tulsa USA
Just waiting on Tulsa, Tulsa USA
Now the oil wells are flowing
And the night lights sure are grand.
Who would have thought such a sorry little crop,
Could grow from such a barren land?
Just waiting on Tulsa, Tulsa USA
Just waiting on Tulsa, Tulsa USA
